Our Pastor

Pastor Mike Sacco began his ministry here at First Baptist of Amherst in August 2001, moving his family from Michigan where he and his wife, Michelle, were raised. He and Michelle were married in 1986 and have three young children: Taylor, Jacob, and Ellie.

Pastor Mike accepted God’s call to study for pastoral ministry in 1984. He is a graduate of Denver Seminary and has served in the pastorate since 1988.

He is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program at Gordon-Conwell Seminary studying "Redemptive Leadership".

Pastor Mike describes his life and ministry in this way:    "I love the Lord Jesus and have no greater goal in life than to glorify God in all that I do. My first responsibility in that pursuit is to be a man of integrity. With that goal in mind, I pray and study the Bible as God's Word so that the Lord might mold me into the kind of pastor, husband, father and man that He wants me to be. Only then can I teach God’s Word and lead others into honoring the Lord Jesus."

Join us this Sunday as we gather to worship God and explore His Word together under Pastor Mike’s teaching.
