Children's Ministry

Proverbs 23:12 states, “Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge”. Here at the First Baptist Church of Amherst we believe this verse is directed to old and young alike and for that reason we offer a number of Christian Education opportunities for our children. In addition to Sunday School, opportunities for learning occur during the Sunday morning worship service as the children, age 4 through grade 4, move downstairs to Kids' Korner where they hear a message geared to younger ears.

Pioneer Club Logo.jpgWe also offer Pioneer Clubs, a midweek club program for boys and girls age 4 through grade 4 which teaches them not only Biblical truth in a relevant way, but also a ton of fun activities and life skills.  Kids can do anything from earn a wilderness badge after a special nature hike to learn basic first aid from a local expert, all the while integrating the Word of God into everyday life. Scripture memorization is an important part of the program as kids truly learn what it means to hide God's word in their hearts.

Come join the fun every Wednesday at the church from 6:15-7:45 pm. For the 2008/2009 year, club kickoff is on September 10th and runs to the end of the school year (with some cancellations due to holidays or unplanned weather incidents). Pioneer Clubs is open to any child age 4 through grade 4 who would like to come, so bring a friend too! We offer three classes led by qualified and competent teachers and helpers: Scooters (Age 4-Kindergarten), Voyagers (Grades 1-2), and Pathfinders (Grades 3-4).
